About the Artist
Creating art is not just a profession or a hobby — it is a way of seeing the World.

Biography
Vicente Alonso was born in Basel (Switzerland) in 1969 and grew up in Spain, where his early sensitivity for drawing soon emerged. Although his talent was evident in childhood, it wasn’t until 2003 that he—almost by chance—picked up a pencil again and rediscovered a dormant vocation. Word quickly spread among his friends, who began gifting him art materials to encourage his creative exploration.
Over time, he transitioned to oil painting, a technique that captivated him deeply. Although professional commitments forced him to pause his artistic pursuits for a while, he eventually returned to painting with the conviction of someone who has found their true form of expression. Since 2014, he has been painting consistently in his spare time, nurturing an activity that has become an essential part of his life.
Techniques and Artistic Commitments
Vicente Alonso works with graphite pencil drawing and oil painting, exploring landscapes, animal subjects and human figures. However, his greatest focus lies in personal creation: developing his own artistic universe, intimate and recognizable, where he can express his unique vision of the world.

„I paint not what I see, but what I feel when I see. Every canvas is a conversation between the visible and the invisible, between certainty and mystery. My work invites the viewer to slow down, to breathe, and to discover the beauty that exists in the spaces between things.“
